The documentary film, “‘Diverted,” will highlight the importance of Native people and Tribal nations in local water restoration projects, while examining similar efforts across America and around the world.

Director Valene Peratrovich leads a group of grassroots filmmakers and journalists aiming to bring attention to issues that mainstream media groups ignore or overlook when it comes to preserving Great Salt Lake. The team is focused on bringing awareness to the threats facing Great Salt Lake and the notion of Indigenous sovereignty over bodies of water being restored in Utah and beyond.
